Are any of you Veterans receiving TRT from the VA ?

You don't have to mention why, I just want to know if the VA provides that treatment or not.

A Google search has been turning up muddy waters on the subject.

Merkava,

The VA does provide TRT, for specific reasons. If a SM's low T is due to regular old aging, they might have a problem getting approval for TRT. If however it's due to a previous or underlining medical condition it is often easier to get TRT via the VA.

Best to request an appointment with your GP so he can send you to a VA urologist for the discussion. The GP will also make sure all of your ducks are in a row before you see the urologist (IE: More blood tests, ruling out other medical conditions, etc..).

Lastly, tell the doctors about how your low T is really affecting your quality of life and how much (if any) it is becoming a problem in your regular activities.

Best of luck to you.
