I have noticed that our local USPS is delivering on Sunday. They are not delivering our typical mail but in fact, they are delivering shipping goods. From my understanding according to our local postal manager(at the U.S. Post Office), USPS is now very often used as the final source of delivery(from UPS, FedEx, etc.) to your home or business.
There is a story that I have as to why/how I found out this information...
I had ordered an item online and tracked it(via UPS) all the way to my home, where the tracking said...DELIVERED! However, it never made it to my home.
I contacted UPS and was told that they now use the local USPS for the final delivery. Unfortunately, someone had slapped another label over any valuable delivery information(my address). Therefore, USPS couldn't make the final delivery and didn't know how/who to contact(me) and in turn, sent it back to UPS.
The local USPS postal manager(in discussed) also mentioned to me that they make almost no money for this delivery...Like .68 cents...IDK!
