SaturnTAAT transaxle fluid compatibility

Would the Dexron II I have on hand (20L pail) be forward compatible w/ the Dexron IIE spec stamped on transaxle dipstick? FYI; owners manual states Dexron III for ATF fluid; does not mention Dexron IIE. Again; forward compatibility of II to III? Thanks in advance.

Regular dextron II hasnt been relevant in decades.. which specific fluid do you have.

Since dexron 3 came out in 1993, that's later than the first saturn transmissions.

What's the year of manufacture on your pail? I believe it should have a D or E suffix.
