Shame the nameplate has disappeared...Plymouth was the bees knees back in the day.

And up to 24mpg too!
 
When they are showing the body lines it almost looks like a oversized Volkswagen.
Wish we could compare it to the Packard, Studebaker and Mercury of the day.
I am thinking the Plymouth was the working man's ride like Dodge evolved into.
 
Isn't the Airflow the one Chrysler had problems with the engine falling out if it was taken up to 80 mph or higher. Not kidding, there was one of their models of the era that was fairly revolutionary for it's time that the engine would come loose like that. I think it was the Airflow.

My dad was 13 in 1937.

Before I was born, my folks had a pair of 2nd hand Plymouths. My dad learned about maintaining the flat head 6 because he learned how to drive in the Army driving a Dodge weapons carrier across Europe monitoring the Luftwaffe radio traffic. 5 I 6s were joined together to power the Sherman tank.
