Why not run it and just use the Puro next time? It may not be exactly the same as the original filter, but I'm sure it's built fine. Every Mahle filter I've ever used has held up well (primarily BMW's).

Why am I getting this funky URL rather than the Amazon URL like show on the screen?

The seems to be happening a lot lately and it just hangs.

Malware? If I click the links in the first post it goes right to Amazon for me.

Mercedes used the Mahle style filter, I would stick with that, although that Mann would most likely work just as well. Also Purflux makes these for Mercedes and they are much more inexpensive if you buy from them.

Off topic, but you have a browser hijacker.

That Mahle seems to be a reboxed Purflux with the intentionally-wavy "chevron" pleats for more media surface area.

Purolator is Mann now, and the Boss uses the same fleece media and plastic mesh as some Mercedes OEM filters that Mann supplies. And for those OE-fleece applications, Mann puts that OE fleece filter in the 6-sided Boss Box.

Okay so I can definitely confirm that the Mahle filters are not wavy but just straight pleats unlike the photos.

Do you have a pic of one?

In fact, I'm thinking the Mann filter although not OEM might be the best bet here? Or maybe the Purolator BOSS?

The Mahle is seriously dainty.

My first choice would be the Purflux L394, with Mann also being a good choice. The Boss is a reboxed Mann, so that is good too if the price is competitive.

Ah well the Purflux L394 costs the same as the Mann filter on eBay, around $12. Is the Purflux a better choice?

For the same price, I'd try the Purflux. It has more media due to the special pleating (they can cram in more media in the same size cartridge). There's an eBay listing with them 2 for $20

I also saw some Purfluxes in Mercedes boxes. Purflux might have been the OE supplier, or maybe they switched to or from Purflux.

But either way, both should serve you well
