Giving Bitogers the first opportunity to buy my Lawn Boy Commercial, model 22261 , 21", 2 stroke, 6 1/2 HP mower, before I list it on Ebay and Craigslist.

$599 FIRM, may seem a lot for a 21" mower. However, do your research and homework before you judge. This one has the orange, full 1 gallon gas tank (to cut ALL day without refilling), the 6 1/2 HP Duraforce engine (most powerful 21" mower engine ever made), aluminum deck (which will never rust), 3 speed transmission. I have done the "dirty work" already, by upgrading the original plastic drive wheels with matching, Orange, steel drive wheels with ball bearing from a Lawn Boy 22271 model. When the drive wheel tread finally wears out, you can buy and replace the tread - not the entire drive wheels. This was many landscapers "go to" mower when it was still sold.

The 2 stroke mower engine was last sold in 2004. The model # 22261, was and is considered by many to be the "crown jewel" of the long Lawn Boy lineup. I sold my other Lawn Boy 10552 mower to another, local (happy buyer last year). Now I am selling the most highly sought out Lawn Boy mower. Reasons for discontinuing the mower were: 1) A Crackdown by the EPA and 2) After Toro bought out Lawn Boy, they decided to faze out the Lawn Boy name, and not putting anymore research money into meeting EPA regulations. This one is a 2003 model. As many of you know, 2 stoke engines can cut on hills and slopes, and ditches without losing lubrication - thus resulting in engine longevity over a 4 stroke mower, under the same applications.

This mower ONLY weighs about 79 lbs. (Even your wife can cut the yard, pick it up and easily load it into your truck -while you sit in the yard and drink beer - well, maybe your wife). I have owned this mower for the past 7 years as a backup homeowner mower only. I did not start it up this year until today. Started on the first pull (really!). It cut my front yard, like "it was nobody's business" as they say. The combination of weighing only 79 lbs and having 6 1/2 HP, make for a great power to weight ratio - almost like having a Porsche for yard duties. This Duraforce engine make almost twice the power per CC, than your typical 4 stoke engine. I have cut grass over the wheel height in the past, without the mower bogging down and stalling in the past.

The best part is, I've been using from my stash of Mobil 1 MX2T full synthetic, 2 cycle motorcycle oil - formulated for Grand Prix 2 cycle motorcycle. I'll give you a few pints to take with you. This oil, can't be found anymore either, but I have more than enough to give some pints away to the lucky buyer. For me, there has been next to NO smoke or odors with this mower and oil. It is in great condition, and I would never swindle another Bitoger.

$599 is a fair price for a hard to find mower. If it does not sell now, I will list it again in the Spring, before I move and downsize. You can still get any needed parts from Toro. I am not aware of another mower like this in the South East USA. I am in Tennessee. This one still has the original dealer sticker on it (Gielow's from Wisconsin).

A very rare valuable LB for sure. Having said that, I sold my 2 LBs years ago and bought a JD JX75 and a JD 14SB and never looked back.

That is an awesome mower! They are reliable and the few parts that go bad after eons will probably remain available for quite some time.

I have a Lawn Boy model 10247. It is the push version with the Duraforce 2 stroke. Bought it new in 02' or 03'? I used Lawn Boy oil until I could no longer find it and switched to SuperTech outboard oil.
Have only replaced the primer bulb, fuel line and an ignition coil. The engine is 140 CC's. Yes, they have a ton of power. They also start easier than a four stroke mower and usually on the first pull.

I am not good at posting photos on this forum. However, I will vouch for the fact that it is in comparable physical condition and appearance to the one posted here in the upper left hand corner. (The 7 year old Youtube one). For the serious, send me a PM and I'll send you proof that it is, what I say it is. You snooze, you loose.

I am located in Middle Tennessee, outside of Nashville, between Nashville and Chattanooga on I 24. For anyone who wishes to pony up and pay the shipping costs, I will also ship it (strap it to a small pallet, ship it from my local trucking terminal to your local trucking terminal). Whatever you want to do. I would also let FedEx box and ship it. It all depends on how deep your pockets are, and how bad you want it.

It has been a good mower to me, so it is time for someone else to enjoy it. I do know, the creator is not making them anymore - and Toro sure is not interested in making them anymore. I would have loved for Toro to make a fuel injected version, but it is never going to happen!

I have a 22261 mower, same as yours. One of the best you can get, most definitely! I will never sell my 22261 nor any of my other Lawnboys!
