One caveat this time: one coupon per ebay account.... which was a little annoying. mad

So you can save $100 on a $400+ purchase of tires, and then you can also use any factory rebates?

And I assume most here would have the tires shipped to their home? Or would you have it shipped to your local DT location so you can stop in and have them installed?

Well I bit. Ordered some Cooper Discoverer AT3 tires... no way anyone locally could match this price.

I have scored several times with DTD's Bay sale. Previously, a member was able to buy two tires at the $400 price point and save $100. Then repeat the purchase for $200 off a set of four tires. Couple that with the mfg rebate, and there is no way in [censored] that you get a better deal anywhere. Especially when you are talking about BFG KO2's or other high end tires for 25-33% off.

A little OT. Several years ago used this promo to get my local DT to price match a set of Cooper Discoverer HTPs for a Tacoma. Between the promo and Cooper rebate, great deal. YMMV on pm though.

Thanks for posting.

Anyone else having an issue with the DTD ebay website? Trying to enter specific size and when search hit, comes up with a generic ebay ad. Tried on two different browsers.

I purchased a set of tires from DTD online, went to DTD to have them installed. He told me all of them can price match any of their DTD prices. They really do pride themselves on customer service! Which they better, considering they don't do much else other than tire changes/balances lol

Don't forget 1.5% additional cash back on ebay when going through befrugal.com. Please use my referral link for $10 signup bonus. That extra $5 in your pocket buys a six pack of beer in my neck of the woods. crazy

Found a better way to get to tire search options for DTD @ ebay. Use the following link.

Discount Tire Direct @ ebay Then hit shop tires and tire size search works.

Seems like this promotion beats the holiday promotions from DTD. The $100 off is immediate, and one less rebate to go wrong.

On the bottom line after rebates I think it depends. The last several promos in addition to DT/DTD promo rebate and manufacturer rebate they've had an extra $60 rebate for using the DT Credit Card. I don't see that with this one. And your total purchase needs to be >$400 here, so if you have a smaller tire size and/or want more value oriented tires that won't work here. However yes, one less rebate to deal with.

That said, as I've only dealt with b&m DT rebates, I've never had an issue getting my rebates even on ordered tires. Easiest rebates I've done. The issue I saw recently was with DTD and tires not in currently in stock for ordering. DTD could make it easy on themselves and just say, tires not in stock we're not going guarantee the rebates, period. Iirc I think that's how this DTD @ ebay promo works. Once they sell out a tire in a particular size, that's it, no further promo offer unless they happen to come back in stock, which is rare.

An instant "rebate" at the time of purchase is much preferable to one that requires submission, even when not speaking from a point of view where some of us had to resolve some issues with the typical DT rebate submission process.

That said, DT/DTD rebates are about as good as they get, and normally fast and easy. Even after some submission issues, my Labor Day rebate was approved almost instantly, and received inside of a month. Even the Conti manufacturer rebate was similarly quick to arrive.

The Mobil rebate for the oil I bought just today using that rebate card will probably take longer to process and arrive. And for a relative fraction of the amount.

But, it's true that DTD could make things even easier if they sorted out the situation involving rebates for tires not in stock. They could simply make only in-stock tires eligible, which would be a bummer for us, the consumer, or fix the documentation issue, not only for their in-house rebate, but more importantly, the manufacturer rebates.

It's really only a DTD issue, as the last set of tires I bought at a DT store generated a properly dated receipt for rebate submission, despite the fact that the tires were not in stock and had to be ordered for later installation. It's odd that DTD can't or doesn't do the same.
