Windows 10 update and Symantec End point

I'm kind of a dummy when it comes to this stuff...so bear with me and correct me!
Doing the Windows 10 update...get an error message saying that I must uninstall Symantec End Point protection to install Windows 10. Ok, I googled it and arrived at this page:

I pasted that address into Windows Explorer and clicked "show hidden folders" and I cannot find that roru.log they talk about. I know I have version 12.1.6. This subscription is from an organization I don't belong to anymore, so I don't have access to any licence codes.

Symantec Endpoint Protection.... we have to tolerate that POS at work on the workstations running Win 10 Enterprise and the Symantec is a massive resource hog. I'd find something else if you can. Otherwise, I'd obey the admonition and uninstall it, find a different AV. Without the licensing info for the installation of Symantec that you're running, you've got no other choice if you want to upgrade to 10, which if you are on 8 would be well worth it.

Thanks, I was kind of suspecting it's time to ditch it. Might try the free Avast.
