It seems like the 0W-30 AFE has disappeared from the Walmart shelf and is only available on Amazon through third party sellers. Is there a reformulation coming?

I think they call their 0w30 something different now, like "Emissions system protection".

The ESP is a different oil. I could never find it, anyway!
Maybe people in PA aren't interested in fuel economy, Car51? smile
The Mobil 1 site has updated some of thier oils for Dexos Gen. 2, but not the AFE oils.

Must be regional. After AZ closed it out 2 years ago, WM had an exclusive notation on their website. I see it's gone now.

I wouldn't be surprised if Mobil closed it out because it's a formula that is recommended by no one and is not printed on any oil cap. The only time I've seen it is a note in old GM manuals for cold weather.

I don't think AFE 0w30 was a big seller for Mobil because no manufacturer recommends it (as stated previously).....I do, however, think it's an excellent product.....one of Mobil's best, IMO...

Maybe they ran out and are waiting for replenishment. They usually keep some stashed for internet orders, check your store online.

I'd use 0w30 in a cold climate instead of 5w30.

Its been proven on here that (Mobil 1) 5w30 is actually thinner than (Mobil 1 ) 0w30 in most cold conditions

I think I saw that comparison. Didn't it show that the 0w-30 was only thinner at extreme low temps, like -30 ?

I just got back from Walmart they still have M1 AFE 0w20 and 0w30 jugs down here as well as PP. I've used M1 AFE 0w30 on my Camry once when I did a lot of short trips in Austin. I actually noticed RPMs would not rise as high during startup maybe one or two ticks. 200-400 RPMs less I think and it sounded like the engine would settle down quicker after startup than other oils I have used such as 5w-30 and 10w-30. It handled (4) 600 mile trips across Texas in summer as well as a fair amount of city driving. As I recall, the dipstick never got dark even at 6,000 miles when I drained it. Used a pure one filter . I don't recall needing to top off either with that formula.

I always like to see how at 100*C 0W30 AFE is nearly the same viscosity as 5W30 M1, but quite a bit thicker than 10W30 at the same temperature. (10.9 vs 10.0 cSt)
My WalMart never had it. Otherwise, that's what I would be running in all of our cars.
