An informative look-back!

I notice the first Pic is a little fake: adding oil with a cut-off plastic bottle funnel
with the white cap still on the bottle top! LOL

I wondered about that myself. Someone's head was in the wrong place.

I think it's the retention ring or seal, not the entire cap.

My nominee for the most significant innovator in the history of engine oils, is the bloke that first came up with the idea for ZDDP. I have absolutely no idea who this is but I see that a Robert L Itoy filed this patent in 1943 so maybe this the guy we need to give a medal to?
