Would somone please tell those idiot weathermen to get out of the wind and rain.
They obviously lack any common sense and need a phonecall from a manager.

There is absolutely zero reason for them to be standing out there except their egos.

And all it does is cause noise in their broadcast.

Probably making good money to stand out there in the wind and rain.

I am watching Mike on the weather channel and his sound quality has quite abit of unwanted noise.

And the fact they have no PFDs when standing at the water's edge on a dock with 50mph winds strongly suggests they are not well prepared.

Most are so full of hot air they are lucky they don't float away.

Sure but the point is they are not accomplishing anything by standing in it that could not be done better elsewhere.

Even the parking garage reporting with the view behind them makes good sense but watching the announcer and cameraman take turns falling over is more like Moe, Larry & Curly than a professional broadcast.

And for those of us in the track who have been monitoring these clowns for the past 36 hours, we would certainly prefer to see something actually useful.

Yeah I agree. They holler and carry telling everyone else to run for the hills about a terrible approaching storm, then they run out there in the middle of it exposing themselves to real danger from flying debris. Just really stupid. I would understand if they were filming from a place of cover not exposing themselves to the winds.

Sensationalism sells. Sex sells. Face time on air sells. Those weathermen in wind and rain are here to stay.

Revenue.

Who cares? They're deciding to go stand out in it, so if they get hurt then that's on them.

Not hurting emergency crews because they're refusing to rescue people.

So basically they are like trained monkeys who go out and dance around in the rain for a banana while the audience throws pennies into their owner's tin cup.

They are "Weather Monkeys".

Poorly trained Weather Monkeys.

You must not be watching this.

These guys are 100% amped up like a kid ina candy store. They have been hoping to cover the "Big One" since they were an undergrad. They don't even attempt to conceal their enthusiasm at being in extreme weather while many of their audience are in the track and are afraid their homes are being blown away.

No manager has to tell these guys to go play in the storm.

You're the first to catch on. They're doing it for themselves, and their resume tapes.

You can spot this on the local news here when something is overly sappy and produced and it's all about the narcissistic reporter.

That is probably the ones in the studio with the green screens.

There was one local reporter who was way too happy when reporting on a bus evacuating the elderly. That evacuation was just the beginning of the work for the helpers and those being moved must have been worried about the future, but this reporter, all she wanted to do was find the feel good story behind a "rescue".

I have no issue with reporters putting themselves in danger. They're grown adults. And they're showing us just how bad things are and how quickly the storm surge will happen. There are lots of people who don't believe evacuation orders until they see something with their own eyes. At least some of them will change their mind after seeing some footage.

Saw one earlier this morning walking up to a tree starting to catch fire from a downed power line...
