So my Grand Marquis had a shake when the brakes were applied and a rattle on driver's side when I hit bumps.

I took the front rotors off to see if they could be turned. No luck.

When I took the calipers off I discovered the driver's side caliper slide pin bolts were missing leaving the pad holder totally lose.... WTH?

Got new rotors and a slide pin kit. All is smooth and quiet now.

Use locktite on the bolts that screw onto the caliper pins. GM TSB for my trucks tells me to and I've seen pics where those bolts go missing.

Missing??

I bet the last person who worked on the brakes forgot to tighten them or even forgot to install them. I always torque brake fasteners to factory spec and have not seen this issue. It's certainly not a common issue with the Panther platform.

Gone... I must assume the mechanic may have forgotten to put them back in.
