I'm going to restore my window unit this year. I've been looking @ ball bearing pillow blocks with zirk fittings.

I have no idea how old mine are, the unit is 10 years old i Believe. Got it from a lady who was told it would cost 2k to service it/fix it.

My question is it best to not reinvent the wheel or try and see i can make some work.

I figured it would be better then the bushing ones they sell.

The pillow block ones lasted 10 + years in my swamp coolers. I lube them twice a season with what ever gear oil I have ..

Maybe i should just get the replacement ones...

Thought was the greased bearings might roll nicer

get the pillow blocks off the shaft, and the bearing should be able to be manipulated out...replace.

Don't over complicate it...

Whatever monkey company serviced this cooler before me rounded the nuts and bolts. Not only that, but the whole bearing is rust.

Ill have to cut the bolts off and torch the bearing off. From there i wanted to install the heavy duty bearings
