Thinking about installing a magnet at the end of the oil filter.

Any comments or future installation issues removing the oil filter? My zero turn has about 1.5" clearance gap between the oil filter and engine compartment. I don't want the magnet or the oil filter jamming my hand against the engine compartment.

I have used a filtermag Amazon Filtermag for years now. When I open a filter there is always a ghost image of the magnet on the inside of the filter wall left from the metal deposited. Don't know if it helps but I really don't think it hurts any. Just make sure the magnet is strong enough to not fall off mid OCI.

You may want to use the high temperature magnet, the type that does not loose the power when it is put in a hot environment.
Usually, the rating have "SH" at the end like N35SH.

While you are at it, put some magnets in your shoes.
