They are going quick. The deal ends at 8:30 PM Eastern time or until they are sold out, whichever comes first.

These things are pretty neat I been looking at them like to get one to check codes quick when buying a used car instead of dragging my big corded scanner along with me.

Any idea eBay has many different ones are some better then others? or covers more parameters, etc? witch one should a guy get or doesn't it matter?

That's not all that unusual a price for a generic. The problem is that despite many if not all claiming they can do ALL OBDII vehicles from '96 and newer, that is not true.

Many cannot do J1850 VPW or PWM protocol which is on most older Fords, GMs, and maybe others. Most if not all (that aren't defective) can do canbus which most switched to around the mid-2000's. It was regulated to model year 2001 for Europe and 2008 for US but manufacturers may have switched earlier.

If you know you have canbus and it's all you'd ever need, I'd get one of the tiny blue translucent types on Amazon or eBay. If you know you want to be able to read ALL OBDII '96 and newer, get a BAFX. The plastic casing may look the same but there's different circuit boards in them. $22.

This chart says the ELM-327 can do just about everything. Unless there are counterfeits?

There are lots of counterfeits out there.
I use a vGate scan tool I found in a wrecked IS300 at the junkyard. It has an "ELM327" that reports V1.5 of the firmware (which isn't a valid version number) and when checked with the ELM327 Identifier App, doesn't support the more advanced features.

I've read anything over ver. 1.1 is a clone . Had a lot of cheap ones. many didn't work with Torque and they didn't even want them back, just refunded the money.

Finally got a good one, ScanTool 427201 OBDLink LX. It much, much faster and you can leave it connected too as it has a sleep mode.
