Mobil Delvac 1300 vs ESP in 1998 12 valve Cummins

Found a place locally where I can pick up some 5 gallon pails and get the rebate offered so I was wondering what you guys would use? 1300 Super or ESP?

I like the thought of synthetic because of the idle time and temps both high and low but don't know if the ESP is suited for my application. It looks like it's for the newer diesels. With the rebate I'd be paying about $12/gal for ESP and $7/gal for the 1300 Super so it's not a cost issue. Limit two per household and I own two houses so I can buy 20 gallons and not worry about buying oil for a long time....

Either is acceptable. The ESP is just as acceptable as the 1300, both meeting fairly similar specifications, particularly where they involve your application. You have to pick which you'd rather buy, but there is no concern with the use of either.

Is one a 15w40 and one a 5w40? Do you drive colder places than CO?
