I need to drill a few holes in my boats engine bay. While I cannot smell gas, safety first, so since the M18 Fuel tools have no brushes, can I assume the drill would be considered ignition protected?

And don't say "run the bilge blower". That is what I am properly mounting.

I would think that eliminating the brushes does remove one source of ignition the trigger may still be one. No idea just a thought.

Are you at a boatyard? Can you get shop air? An air drill would be safe and its exhaust would help clear things out down there.

Just use a room fan to blow some air around but the answer is no unless it's marked MSA approved for mining safety in an explosive environment then that would be ignition safe.
