Copper likely from a cooler.. otherwise great metal wear rates.

My son has been following the OLM intervals of @15k miles on his 2009 328i using 5W-30 or 0W-30 BMW synthetic. When we had to R$R the valve cover at 108k miles the valvetrain looked perfect. a 10K OCI is more than sufficient.

MCompact -- after seeing those pictures and reading your post, I am no longer skeptical of the 15k mile oil change on the N52 engine. These engines aren't hard on the engine oil, especially an oil designed for it.
