First oil change.on new to me 1998 B3500 camper

First oil change on my Leisure Travel van. Got under to replace the oil filter and found a PF 56 filter on it. Little ole thing and tight as a bear. Some quick lube place I suppose. Do you think it hurt anything?

Doubt it.

When I had my 98 B3500, it loved RT5 10/30 and never missed a beat.

Your van should be missing the worst part: The factory roof.

We are trying to get ready for a short vacation. Went under it with my correct size oil filter wrench and found out that little PF 56 was on it. Put 5-30 in it for short trip to clean it out and then going to the Valvoline synthetic.

Yes I use the wix Ph 8 size I think on wix it is 51515.

Stay away from the syn unless you are trying to locate the weak oil seals.

My 2007 Dodge crew 1500 loves that Valvoline synthetic. It's hemi has 193k on it and runs like new. Previous owner said they were using Mobil 1, but who really knows. Had original plugs and wires and I flush the brown green antifreeze out yesterday. Nasty stuff.
