OK, the CTS was too small. What are your thoughts on this car ?

Thanks.

I like the XTS a lot, it's what a Cadillac should be. I had an ATS, it was a nice car but too small! CTS isn't much bigger, and they are trying to hard to be a 3/5 Series. They focused too much on performance and handling with the ATS and CTS, imo they should have focused on comfort.

I've spent some time driving around a few XTS. Honestly, I like it. As mentioned above, it's really the ultimate culmination of what "old" Cadillac was.

"Old" Cadillac being comfortable luxury vs. "New" Cadillac having a certain emphasis on performance at the expense of comfort.

I say it's the ultimate culmination because it is a completely comfortable car to drive, while being totally competent in it's driving dynamics. It's not a wallowy luxury barge, it's more composed, but it's also not a performance sedan, it's more comfortable. There's tons of room all over too: Front seat, back seat, and trunk.

It strike a nice balance if that's your thing.

I don't like the high belt line on the XTS. I think it's done to make it a safer car. But it's common on most every new car so it is what it is. If that Cady has the magnetic ride control, I'm guessing it rides very nice.

Outdated junk. If you're set on that platform, you should save yourself the 15 grand and buy an Impala LTZ.

45k is also used CTS V-Sport territory. Chevy SS if you really want a big boat that also hauls [censored].

Can personally give you feedback.
Sibling has one, 14' platinum basic 2wd and 3.6L.
Has about 65k'ish miles.
I've been known to steal it a few times on weekends, thankfully! smile

Has ran flawlessly/no issues, except for 20" platinum wheels getting warped.... Despite never hitting potholes & roads.
Dealer personally said there cheaply made. Typical GM making the asians use cheaper "Pot" metal to cut costs mad

I feel/see it more of a perfect highway/commute vehicle.
That is specifically made for Comfort/Low road noise.
Definitely not the "New" kind of vehicle.
In regards to handling and torque.
P.S. It Always gets used for road trips! Used it to go to the casinos once, didn't get tired at all (2.5 hrs)

If your use to smaller/compact 4 door sedans like the ATS, you might feel like your in a slow boat.
Personally think this size vehicle is what an "American 4-Door sedan" should be.
Not these [censored] Sisee 4 door cars that look like coupes. cla250, bmw 3 series, ats, verano, etc (Typically the woman vehicles, okay for them)

Has "American Old Money" written all over it, very classically albeit.
If I was a politician/lawyer/investment banker that traveled a bit I'd probably have one.
Very classy interior.

All depends on what YOU want/looking for.
^Like mentioned above, about price being in cts-v territory is right.
But I mean what do YOU need it for, Track/daily use, etc.
Up to you OP.
Each car has it's purpose, now if it fits yours, only you can answer that.

The XTS is a great car, I recently rented one on vacation and was really impressed with the ride/drive. You might want to look at the used market since the XTS models seem to depreciate quickly, you can most likely pick up a fully loaded model low mile XTS with heated/cooled seats, Nav, heated steering wheel, all wheel drive and panoramic roof for less than the cost of a new base model. The rental fleets seem to remove the luxury class vehicles at lower miles making the vehicles an even better deal on the used market.

The bulk of the higher end professionals with money to burn tend to look at the high end beemers, Mercedes and above for the performance aspects primarily and comfort a close second. Caddy's are trying to get some of those buyers.

Not junk, but I do agree that an it shares the same basic platform as an Impala (also very highly rated).

If I was in the market, I'd buy one too!
