2007 Pontiac G6 with 2.4 ecotec. Used QSUD for years always had to add a quart of oil every 1000 miles.Always thought the engine used oil zero leaks never thinking it could be the the oil choice. Grabbed a jug of formula shell at home Depot 3200 miles on this oil zero makeup oil. Go figure.

This is as good as the post as the one who said he could "feel the difference" of rolling resistance when he put synthetic in the differential......

That settles it! Formula shell is better than QSUD.

Not at all. Thats a big difference. Going from 1 quart per 1,000 miles (way too much!!) to almost NONE.
I can't believe it has anything to do with the oil. Its a coincidence that the rings finally freed up, sealing combustion due to correct orientation and/or junk finally breaking off the ringlands. Really, oil is just oil. Quaker State is not unusual in any way. Shell isn't either.

I remember Benzadmirial on this forum had a Buick regal with the same ecotec motor using QSUD and it was consuming oil like crazy. Interesting

Don't Quaker and Pennzoil leave wax inside the components? Formula might have cleaned it.
