I've used SuperTech transmission fluid many times, and it's perfectly fine. One of them is a vintage 1995 automatic transmission with 241K miles on it.

I used the ST Dex6 in my sons 03 Cavalier - it's been in for over 30k - no issues, works great. AT fluid isn't stressed much in your average grocery getter, ST is fine.

ST Dex VI has been working well in my old BMW for the past 100,000 miles or so, but I don't know if that is an average grocery getter or not. It shifts just fine in both winter and summer.

You are correct that it doesn't make any sense. But if you wish to pay more then there are other fluids out there that will work just as well.

Last time I researched this , the conclusion I came up with is the label says it is suitable for cars using Dexron 6 . But it does not show a Dexron 6 certification / license . So , I guess yous pays yours money and yous makes yous choices .

I am going to use Max Life in the 1991 Caprice that calls for Dexron II or III . I think I will hold off on using it for the vehicles calling for Dexron 6 .

Transmission fluid is cheap compared to transmissions .

Thanks , :-)

The Walmart brand is licensed Dexron VI, formally approved by GM smile

Yes.

~$16.50/gallon everyday at Walmart for this is a GREAT deal on a FS DexVI replacement. Use not just with total confidence, but with joy.

But ST D6 while licensed is not advertised as full synthetic that the OP is requesting from the start of the thread.

https://www.walmart.com/ip/Super-Tech-DEXRON-VI-Automatic-Transmission-Fluid-1-qt/17134873

The full syn dual licensed Kendall Versatrans LV costs only about $0.50 / qt more than the ST D6 which is not advertised as full syn. Similarly, the Kendall Versatrans LV ATF is only about $0.50 / qt more than VML ATF @ WM through Walmart.com, and is fully licensed for D6 unlike VML ATF.

Super Tech MVLV ATF made by WPP shows to both be full syn and licensed for D6, but doesn't meet the OP's requirements for no store brand. It is cost competitive with other full syn MVLV ATFs but not a screaming deal. So the OP can select other brand full syn licensed D6 ATF at a lower price or equivalent price.
