I have a BMW Z3 3.0l. I had some quarts of Lubrication Engineers ISO 110, leftover from my previous S2000 which had been recommended.
Does anyone know if this is good, bad, or adequate? interesting info is posted on Youtube.
Also diff is quite hot to the touch after a long drive, is this normal?

Definitely normal. Mine does the exact same thing.

Since mechanical efficiency is always less than 100%, some of the HP from the engine goes into heating the oil and overcoming friction so differentials will get hot.

If overly concerned, purchase a finned after-market differential cover and replace the old cover and fluid with synthetic gear GL-5 lube.

I do that on pickup rear ends somewhat for the cooling - but they tend to up the gear oil capacity as well.
Mine has drain, vertical fill (fill from bottle, no pump) and an oil level "tattle tell" port - all easy to get to ...
Lastly - this puts machined on machined gasket faces - gets rid of the flimsy stamped cover - never leaks.
