I have a customer who owes me $150.00 and keeps giving me to run around, he'll answer the phone, then act it will cut out or whatever then hang out. The problem is this guy is a lawyer and got evicted so now I don't know where he lives, but I do know where he works. Anything wrong with showing up at the law firm he works at and collecting payment? I figure if I'm not going to get paid, might as well embarrass him in front of his co workers. That's the legal part I'm wondering about. Or is that kind of stuff confidential?

You show up at his work, and I bet he will file for a non contact order.

I would think that for a lawyer $150.00 would be little more than beer money. Hells bells, a lawyer would probably have at least that much in loose change in the couch cushions. You could get a bunch of those magazine order forms and order at least 150.00 worth of magazines with the bill me option checked, make it a nice assortment of adult porn and gay mags so his wife will get on him as well when the mags start arriving. Its not like they could ever prove it was you. Of course I like the idea of shaming him in the office. That just might have the desired effect, although many lawyers have no shame.

Is this why so many people hate lawyers? I've always thought oh good a lawyer will always have money to pay me.

Take out a judgment against him.

Have it served at his place of work.

I promise he'll pay. LOL

A broke lawyer who got evicted, sounds like an odd story. Just let it go man, be glad you wont have to deal with this guy again. Heck you paid a tin knocker $150 to bang on your truck with a hammer.

I like the Goodfellas way ... and the take out a judgement also. Lawyers use the fact that they are lawyers to think that you can not mess with them.

it not the $150 it was the principle.

i paid a lawyer to go after a company that owed me money in commission. i did not really care about the money it was the fact that when the owner got served i knew he would have to grab his oxygen...

$ well spent.

Ain't that the truth.

Second the "No shame" in his office.

This sounds like a job for small claims court.

I just saw two foreclosures on lawyers. Probably in extremis more than you know. ( Not that he's not dead beating you).

If you get this often go get a debt collection service that takes on small claims
There are many and often they are 15-20% if they handle all of yours. Today it is not wise to confront people
at work-home etc. You can get drawn into some bad drama.
Even if you get a collector who wants 30% it is nice to know that the weasel now has a best friend.. lol

Showing up at his office and talking to his co workers would be worth 150 dollars to me, assuming that's legal.
