6.9 or 7.3?

Better question: is the bracket original?

Doesn't sound like it is......

Is there possibly a smaller version that would be more readily available that it crosses to?

And why can't this filter be cross-referenced and just buy a few cheapies to keep around when needed?

I just ran into a situation where I needed it last night and was too far away from a part store that would carry it / some closed. We run a mobile repair business and have a truck last night that wouldn't run was just trying to find a temporary alternative.

The thread is weird for a fuel filter: 1-12

It crosses over to a 1000 different hydraulic filters!!

I know the souped-up Cummins turbo guys often use hydraulic filters for fuel filters.

Was this an emergency?
Sometimes if you unscrew the filter and tap it sideways,
you can dislodge enough dirt to get it running again.

Not really an emergency just after hours repair I was just curious about what filter could replace it if we did run across this issue again. There was a part store that was open about a quarter mile away and if I could have found a replacement we could have verify the issue was from the fuel filter.
