I need to change my water pump in my 06 Crown Vic and thinking it would be a good time to do a flush and fill. Any benefit or issues related to using Rotella ELC diesel coolant?
Rotella ELC (red) uses a carboxylate inhibitor chemistry and is nitrated but silicate free. It's good stuff and should serve you well. I'm using the pee yellow Rotella Ultra ELC with molybdate inhibitor chemistry in an all-alloy gasser, no issues. Says it's compatible with other chemistries.
I should be able to switch after several flushes with distilled water, correct? I don't really want to go with an aggressive cleaner since I'm not sure what the history is on the cooling system.
