I need to change the oil this weekend. It holds 4.5 quarts. I have 4 quarts of Pennzoil Platinum 10W30 left. I have some leftovers laying around......half quart of Pennzoil Platinum 5W20, about a quart of Pennzoil High Mileage (conventional) 10W40,and a half quart of PYB 10W40. Which oil would you use for that "half quart"?

These cars are not supposed to use anything "thinner" than 10W30 per Nissan fsm. Would a half quart of 5W20 be the least bit harmful?

That's what I'm thinking too,to keep it all Pennzoil Platinum in the engine.

Hot summer in Texas? I'd go up a notch to the 10w-40's for the extra 1/2 quart. I'd save the 5w-20 for a "winter" oil change.

More than not, the Motor will like the 20 grade "additive" in there.
I think my Nissan Rogue might have a higher specific output than your Z - but I havent the calculus at hand ....
It runs MORE happily 4.5 qt 5w30 and 1/2 qt 5w20. engine loves it and you will still be a 30 grade.
