I picked up a NAPA Pro Select cabin air filter today. It had paper pleats instead of that flannel like stuff the factory uses. I could've got the flannel if I went with the NAPA Gold at almost double the price.

Any difference in flow characteristics or longevity between paper and flannel ?

If anything I did notice is the paper sure is stiffer than the flannel. Being that this filter is the kind that gets folded under, it seems like the flexibility of the flannel would be better.

By the way, the Pro Select is made in Poland and the NAPA Gold is made in China.

The fit is more important than the media. I know it's not a earth shattering situation if not all air coming into the cabin is filtered, but if we abide the BITOG meme, any poorly fitted filter is equivalent to a hole in the media.

I would defer to choosing the style that fits best. Your application is not so straightforward with that bend at end.

I would think that with the moisture in the air, the flannel media would last longer than paper. Hard to tell though as the paper is probably treated.

I'd rather support the Polish than the Chinese.....
