From left to right:
Vent 1 78*F
Vent 2 77*F
Vent 3 46*F
Vent 4 51*F
Outside ambient air temperature 100*F.

Low on charge maybe ?
What you guys say ?
Time to buy A/C gauges ?

Why are 2 vents so much cooler? Which are hot and which are cool?

Saw your edit. And agree with above poster.

My mr2 blows about 48f at 100 degree external temp last I topped the system up.

Would that also explain why the two driver vents aren't blowing air as hard as the two passenger vents ?

+1 GM blend door motors to bad all the time.

Might need refrigerant level checked too, my Sonata was 40 degrees out the vents at 107+ while on the freeway today.

Might be another bad motor, the "mode door actuator" going bad. Not 100% sure though.

+1
May be the motor or the end of the plastic shaft could have broken. Also be sure that the fresh air on the two warm outlets is OFF.

I had that same problem on my Jeep a few years back. 2 drivers side vents blew cold but 2 passenger vents blew warm. All it needed was a partial charge.

And I still can't figure why all the vents weren't warm instead of 50/50.

There's 3 blend door actuators:
1. Mode Door Actuator
2. Air Mix Actuator
3. Air Inlet Actuator

So far the only one I've replaced is the Air Inlet Actuator; that was when I wasn't getting any warm air at all. So this time I'm guessing it's one of the other two, unless Chris142 is right about it needing a charge.

Yep my Century does the same thing. It could also be the blend door too

There's the answer.

Blend door malfs are common as a car ages...

Since even the passenger side isn't that cold I'd have it recharged first and then go from there.

I've got a thermometer in my car, my drive home last night was 102* outside and 37 out the vents.

I'm surprised a 32 degree difference between vents could be charge. I guess the left ones are the furthest from the heater box so makes sense they would be warmer if the air coming out isn't as cold as it should be.

Would that suction line be the small diameter or the larger diameter line ?

The big one...

OK these are the stats now:

Ambient 102.2* F
Vent Temp 55.6* F
Low Side Pressure 53 PSI
High Side Pressure 260 PSI

R143A range at 100* F is supposed to be 50-55 Low 315-325 High

I put 4 cans in already; you guys think maybe I need to add another can ?

I don't know how much refrigerant actually went in because I was purging the yellow line to much.

System capacity is 2 pounds.
