Well, it is down to $39.97 at my local WM.

$39 and some change at my WM. The shelves are almost empty of M1. Looks like they are not going to reorder the regular M1 until the AP sells.

Yes. Mobil is the only oil company that runs questionable marketing campaigns. All the other companies, major, boutiques, and independents, are lily white.

"Are you changing your oil after 3000 miles?"
"Yes."
"If you used any API licensed oil on the shelf, you wouldn't have to!"

I think your last point is the most true.

This is from the federal highway association website.

Average Annual Miles per Driver by Age Group
Age............... Male...........Female
35-54............18,854........11,464
55-64............15,859......... 7,780
65+................10,304.........4,785
Average.........16,550.........10,142

Maybe an arguement for younger males as their target group.

Yes, it has become annoying since I've now seen it a dozen times, but I actually applaud Mobil for trying to break the 3,000-mile perception.

Fixed it for you, and agree....3000 miles is nothing with today's oils, even dino.

Amsoil is cheaper by a long shot.

The cost of the oil (and filter) is not the only cost there is. You must either drive somewhere and pay for someone to do it (and have faith that they use the correct oil, filter, tighten things sufficiently, etc. while you wait then pay), or you must jack the vehicle up and spend YOUR time, tools, etc. Does anyone actually consider their time as "free?"

If so, please PM me because I have multiple vehicles to maintain. Time IS money, friend, that's one reason I use synthetic, specifically, Amsoil, and for the last 4 years while my son was away at college and driving my car, I could still sleep at night if he "ran over" a few thousand miles on an oil change (with a car that was 6 hours away from me). He graduated with honors, got a job and married, gave me the car back, and it still runs like a top with 190K+ on it.

As far as I'm concerned, synthetics rule!!
