I know this post should prob be in the lawn mower section, but I'm wonder if the people in this section have more knowledge regarding this.
I know royal purple offers the hps oil that's high in zinc, but are there any others that are available, and cost less than the $10 royal puple qt bottles?

You mention lawn mowers, so I assume you're thinking about OPE use. I would suggest looking at some Heavy Duty Diesel Oils like Shell Rotella T6 5W40 (great choice for OPE). Here's a virgin oil analysis:

Also possibly worth noting, I believe T6 recently removed the Gasoline spec SN from the labeling, which technically disqualifies it from use according to most OPE engine manuals, but they have said that the formulations have not changed. I personally will keep using T6 in my OPE and motorcycles.

I would look at Amsoil Z-Rod 10W-30. It's fully synthetic and high in zinc. As an added bonus, it has a high amount of rust inhibitor, so that when your equipment is in storage over the winter, it's not as likely to rust internally. But it's probably not much cheaper than the Royal Purple unless you buy it in bulk.

In that climate and use, I may consider not bothering with a synthetic. I'd use whatever is the cheapest 15W40 HDEO (Rotella, Delo, Delvac). If you want to run a full synthetic, any of the above brands will still work, although, I don't know what you would gain (maybe longer oil change intervals? lighter wallet?).

Using OPE in Florida for long duration, aren't you more worried about HTHS than zinc? Does the amount of zinc even matter to that engine?

Not synthetic but I think this has the most zinc of any oil on the market.

Another option might be Mobil1 VTWin 20w50 which I recall having high zddp levels.

I put about 15 hrs this week in high 90's F with extreme humidity and no breeze.
I got the oil covered and I use gasoline additives per the makers advice.
I started to wonder if I should up the octane in the gas to premium.
On the oil- I don't like 10w30 here. I'm using 15w50 FS but I have seen T6 hold up to the worst of the worst.
if I didn't have a stash of other oil I'd go with that.

And here's a VOA for a 10W30 T4 that also has a decent dose of zinc:

Another good choice. But, buy it in the gallon size! https://www.walmart.com/ip/Shell-Rotella-T6-5W-40-Diesel-Motor-Oil-1-gal/102646780

Other options:

https://www.walmart.com/ip/Mobil-Delvac-1-ESP-5W40-Gal/167510327

All of those oils above and all of them listed above will work and work well.

I use Mobil 1 or Castrol edge 0w40 in all 4 stroke OPE engines, both have over 1100 ppm zinc. Snowblowers start first pull in zero degree weather (I dont even bother with the electric starter) and lawnmowers do well with the 0w40 in summer heat.
For oils with low zinc in the 700-800 ppm range use 1 oz of this per qt of oil to bring it up to about 1100-1200 ppm.
