That's starting tomorrow, 2017-07-21, for the week. Defy (as CT still calls it) will be $22.74 for a 5 L jug. The rest of the oil specials are unremarkable, to say the least.

Good deal, Garak. WalMart Canada has a similar deal - I think its around $26 for a 4.73 litre jug of PP.

Last week I purchased 18-five litre jugs of Pennzoil Ultra Platinum at Canadian Tire for my dad, sister, me, etc. PUP was on sale for $34 per jug, and comes with a $10 rebate per jug. Luckily I have houses I can have the rebate cheques sent to.

Those [censored] at Cambodian Tire never change. They used to have the PP on for 28 bucks per 5 liters. Thats why I switched to Castrol Syntec/Edge or what ever the name is this week. Walmart had 5 liter jugs for 26 before tax.

I tried to like their diesel oil sales but opted to go to the local bulk dealer and get PetroCan Duron SHP. Better numbers and costs less than T5 on sale.

I thought all the new PP jugs were 5L not 4.73L.

Not impressed with that.

Note to all: That's $27.99. I fat fingered that up there royally, but $27.99 is still a good price.

Yes, Walmart has it, too. With them, finding it is as much of an issue, too. wink

JC1: They normally are, but 4.73 L is 5 U.S. quarts, and Walmart has that fairly regularly on special, and CT brings them in on rollback once in a while. I can live with 4.73 L or 5 L. It's the weird 4.4 L ones that Imperial Oil adores and Wakefield uses on occasion that bug me. When I was using PYB for the first long time I had my G37, it was all 4.73 L jugs. With a 4.9 L capacity sump, 4.73 L or 5 L is close enough.

Uregina09: Where did you find rebate stuff? The Pennzoil site hasn't shown a DIY rebate for quite a while. Or, was it something on the shelf at CT?

I can't seem to upload my receipts. I wonder if its my browser. Last week an employee processed four rebates for me by email.

Rebate applies to "5L" jug, oil on sale at CTC is 4.73L jug, I bet it does not apply. The 4.73L jug is also a "99-" part number, which means it is not a normally stocked part, it is a one time special purchase.

Check the Pennzoil rebate thread. Others were mentioning having difficulty uploading their receipts, too, so they got in touch with Shell and got an email address to which they could email them.

mightymousetech: If he got stuff from the previous sale, it would have been the 5 L ones. That one ended just over a week ago or something like that. That one included Ultra. Maybe for the 4.73 L jugs, CT hijacked a WM Canada truck. wink

I purchased 20 five-litre jugs (Yikes) of PUP at Canadian Tire and have submitted $40 worth of rebates so far. Now I just have to submit the other $160 for my dad, sister, and other folks who got in on the deal with me.

There is no option to submit a rebate for 4.73 litre jugs.

Running the rebates and the oil should keep you busy for a bit. wink

Tax in thats still a decent price, about 6.5$ a liter. I just love busting CTC's balls.

Last year I tried that SOPUS rebate and after numerous tries I gave up in frustration.

When I was running PYB, my purchasing and the rebates just never lined up, so I never even got the chance to try. We get so few rebates up here I don't even bother. The last one I got was a couple years ago from Anco on some blades.

CT is doing good on the synthetic specials lately, but their conventional specials really leave something to be desired. NAPA Canada beats them regularly, and significantly, not to mention the distributor.

At Walmart today and browsed the auto section. PPPP 4.73 L for 26.80 or so. Just enough to beat out CTC. PYB 4.73 L on for 14 and change.

They also had Maxlife ATF for 32 bucks for 5 L.

I wandered through, mine didn't have much PP, but there were some of the Castrol black bottles on sale, something like $24.88, believe they were the 4 L or 4.4 L jugs, though. The MaxLife selection here is getting scarce at WM, for either motor oil or transmission fluid, unless I've just been unlucky lately.
