Hello, I´m planning to buy a Valvoline VO40 Oil filter for my Corolla because I can get them very cheap and I wanted to know if they are good, I live in Venezuela so I just want to know if this filter is good, I mean the alternatives that you could recommend me maybe not be avaible here.

Last I heard, they were made by Purolator.
Before that (2012 range or so) they were Champ made e-core filters.

Purolator has been having issues for the past several years with tearing of the media.
I personally would not use one.

What other filters do you have avaialble? No Fram where you are? I would use Fram orange can over a Purolator filter any day.

Emanuel,
Where are you in Venezuela?
How are things there?
Our US news media only shows demonstrations and water cannons.
Purolator and Wix (both brands manufacture filters in North Carolina) are now owned by Mann filters. We don't see the Valvoline filter at retail stores here, to the best of my knowledge.

I've recently cut open a couple of Valvoline filters that I had on the shelf and now have no use for. They were of the E core variety and the quality to me is suspect at best. They will work as filters, but if a better quality filter such as a Wix or Baldwin is available, that is what I would use.
