There is a driver in there. Product "launch".

They should have done this in a movie (full environment added via CGI), and then revealed it set a Guinness record.

Maybe have Bruce Willis take out a helicopter with it. Oh, wait, been there, done that.

Just imagine what Jason Statham could have done with that!

I'd forgotten about the old Bond movie stunt. Actually, Calspan had the patent for it in 1972.

It bothers me they call it a "barrel" roll when its just a simple roll.
Here's a real barrel roll. Note the barrel cylinder of the spiral flight path.

I was trying to figure out why they thought they needed a full belly pan, unless thats just what the E-Pace comes with.
Many new cars have aero belly pans, but made of plastic, and that one at least looks metallic.

At first I thought a belly pan would reduce unmodelled vortical air flow as it rolled, which might have thrown off their calculations.
Or maybe they just did it for shiny good looks as it rolled.

Typical Editing 101, the parts we want to see held back, bad continuity. Cool that someone did it. Would like to see in its entirety(c'mon! Want to see that landing!)

Looks like a Mazda CX-5 with a cat on the grill. Wonder how many tries it took?
