Necro-resurrection here. Just bought a ‘20 450 Sportsman kinda as a favor to my friend. It’s almost due for its 100 hour service, I think I’m going to use HPL CK-4 Cold Climate 0w30 for the trans and rear diff, unless Dave says it’s not a wise idea. Also have to figure out which oil and Demand Drive fluid cross over.I need to clean up an earlier post Id' made but can't edit. Amsoil ATH is the replacement for the Polaris Demand Drive Fluid, not AGL.
Moving on, replacing AGL isn't all that hard, but giving one replacement recommendation is probably misplaced. AGL gets used in a variety of AT/UTV applications, and in my mind each of them could easily have a specialized replacement that was superior to motor oil. Hopefully it's legit to include a thread on another forum...
AGL Thread
Yes the 7317 is the filter I use on all our Polaris quads.Looks like it’s a 7317 size… confirm?
I got the three HPL fluids specifically designed to replace the Polaris fluids. I forget the abbreviations (oil is just SXS) but I’ll take a pic later so you can know what you need. I’m using an FE7317 for the oil filter.I guess I’ll resurrect this thread again. … the gift that keeps on giving.
@SubieRubyRoo what did you decide upon for fluids and run in your 2020 450 Sportman? I have a 2020 450 myself and some AGL left. Also have a whole lot of low-vis HyGard for my 1025.
Thank you! Good to know on the filter. If you’re running a 7317… I’m sure other Honda-ish sizes (51365/57356) must be fine as well. Been looking for a silicone ADBV variant as the 51358 and Polaris OE is nitrile.I got the three HPL fluids specifically designed to replace the Polaris fluids. And I must have had a typo if I wrote 2020 Sportsman- it’s a ‘21, lol.
