I'm curious about who has gotten really good longevity from a vehicle on M1 ... Anyone cross the 300,000 mile mark on M1? Anyone cross the 400,000 mile mark on M1?

If so, what vehicle and engine? What OCI did you use? Favorite filter?

The details may mean something to long lasting runners smile

Formerly in marine engineering. In an earlier life I owned my own petroleum tank truck, and hauled for the majors and independent's.

What is M1's value proposition, I wonder.

Probably pretty good considering that with rebates you have been able to buy it for years $2.17-$2.67/qt.

354K on a 91 Ford Ranger 3.0. Oil used was M1 10-30 with 10K OCIs for the first 200K. After that I gave the truck to my son and he put another 154K using M1 10-30 with 12-14K OCIs. When sold for $900 the engine used no more oil than when purchased. 1 qt every 4K.

A friend has 360K on his 2000 Taurus doing 10K OCIs with M1 5-30.

A man I used to work with put 350K on his 99 Chev Silverado with 15-20K OCIs. Oil was M1 5-30. Engine ran great when sold, but the third trans that failed convinced him to sell it.

My 96 Merc GM had 218 K when sold and still used 1 qt after 6500 miles. Same as new. 10K OCIs. M1 5-30.

Thanks, but my 2007 Fusion has right at 211K with 10K OCIs with M1 0-20AFE and performs as well as new.

I know others that have used M1 EP out to 15-17K OCIs with engines at 175-200K. When sold, engines performed very well.

Ha! In Canada, it's more like $6-$8/qt ON SALE!

Yeah I miss my 08 Ford Fusion SE 3.0. I would love to buy a car that you've taken care of. Even at 211k miles that Fusion would roll for years to come.

It does. Even on long hwy runs this engine in the 2007 Fusion uses no oil. I added 4 OZ of oil once due to a VC weeping. Even now after 10K with 0-20AFE the oil level stays right on the full mark, and still no sign of engine wear. The Fusion still shifts great up and down.

1993 Ford Ranger - 284,000 miles
1995 Chev K3500 454 - 271,000 miles.

Neither really use any oil - just a trace on 5K OCI's

Both with whatever 15w-40 and filters were on sale.
