That could be the beginning of the end, a step or two before closeout pricing to blow it out of the stores.

It was mentioned a while ago. I saw a entire endcap with it. There were a few missing though. There wasn't a price sign on it so maybe people are grabbing it and not realizing it's $50 instead of the normal $25.

I hope one day we are all just stocked up on M1 AP jugs that were had for $10/ea.

Doesn't seem like a very good deal when they run rebates for $12 on the $25 jugs.

Tht's how I found this offer, I was looking for the next rebate as I need to get a jug of 0w40.. Probably be out after September though. But WalMart has their 5 qt jugs rolled back to under $23 for a month now.

My local Walmart closed a couple weeks ago.
I went there on the 50% off everything sale.
I went to the oil section and got the last 5 quart jug of Pennzoil platinum syn for like $12.00.
The shelf was loaded with jugs of Mobil advanced protection.
Even at 50 % off ,about $25.00 nobody wanted them.
Makes you wonder about this marketing blunder.

Aside from the goofy price I just don't get the marketing on this oil. The advertising promotes the fact that it can go one year between oil changes but then so can EP at a much lower price. The mileage limit is 20,000 vs. 15,000 for EP, so unless I am in the sweet spot of 15,001 to 20,000 miles of driving in one year, why do I want this product?

Exactly. Also, for twice the cost. A bit ambitious.

What about factoring in oil burn off? I've worked on many cars that simply would burn some oil in between changes. At 20,000 miles you'll have to buy 2 jugs just to keep the engine topped off.
