Do I need to dilute latex paint to spray it from a gravity-fed sprayer like this one: https://www.harborfreight.com/20-oz-high-volume-low-pressure-gravity-feed-spray-gun-47016.html

If dilution is needed, what solvent is best? Does it affect the latex paint's strength?

Odds are you'll have to thin the product, it depends on the paint brand and the finish. Latex flat will have to be thinned more than a semi gloss in most brands. You can thin with water or Floetrol. In most cases if you don't over thin the product the paint film is not impacted much. If you cut it too much you'll have problems. If you're working with whites Floetrol can alter the color [slightly], especially if it is exposed to a lot of UV rays.

It can but you need a minimum of a 1.8 tip preferably a 2.0-2.5. Look for a cheap primer gun they have larger size tips. A cheap one like this will work fine.

looks like you will probably have to thin most latex even with a 2.0 tip.

Is it a larger project?

something like

might work better.. although the cleanup time on those is a total killjoy.

I've used a cheap chinese suction gun (non gravity) with latex (thinned with water).

The key was tons of air flow - it can't go on "super-wet".
It needs to dry a little bit between the gun and the work.

Lots of cheap 2.5 tip primer lumps here. 2.5 will positively do latex it can spray liquid type body fillers.
