I was reading the manual today and noticed 5-20 was the only wt called for in all of No. America. In Mexico and Canada a full synthetic was called for, and in the US a semi-synthetic. No mention of dino at all. Also no mention of heavier oils either.

Pretty much all "conventional" oils are semi-synth now. There really aren't any conventional oils as we have known them in the past.

Yeah tig1 I ran full synthetic Castrol gold bottle or Valvoline Synpower 5w20 in my 08 Ford Fusion 3.0 SE. It ran very well on either of those. I miss that big ol whomping XG-2 Fram Ultra. That's a nice large oil filter.

When I first bought my 2007 Fusion I did one change with 5-30 EP for 10K. After that I did one change with 5-20 EP, the rest have been with 0-20AFE.
at 10K.

Has WSS-M2C945-A been superceded?

I'll bet WSS-M2C945-A is still the requirement (in the US at least) and almost any 5w-20, conventional, blend or synthetic meets it.
