company truck, which I've posted about before, with the 5.3 Vortec and 192k hard miles. We have been hauling dirt to build up the protection levees out of a high fence that holds exotic animals. (The owner of the animals has tons of dirt and lets the company I work for have it for free). My job for the past 2 months and most likely for the next 2 months, is to sit at the opening of the gate to make sure no animals escape while they haul dirt out. I drive 10 miles to the jobsite from the shop, then sit there and idle from 7am to 5pm with the AC on. It's extremely boring. Anyway I was wondering what would be the best oci and oil and filter to run in these conditions. I'm currently running Napa 10W30 blue bottle and a Napa Gold filter. It has an OLM but I've been changing it every 2k miles due to the extensive idling and some days I do pull a trailer with around 4,000 lbs. It runs hot every day unless I pop the hood and keep it open, once the hood is open its fine all day idling. Its been running fine otherwise since I've changed the intake gaskets and knock sensors. Should I do anything different in regards to oil and filter and oci?
