Amsoil says to change the eabp120 bypass filter (big boy) @60k or 1 year, I know they are in the filter business and want to sell filters.

I am running Donaldson blue dbl3988 synthetic media ff filters (x2) on the 60 series detroit.I know a lot of you say to run a bypass filter until it gets cold and stops flowing, I am just wondering what reasons amsoil would have besides profit , warranty, deterioration ...esp since a bypass filter gets better with time. The Donaldson blue filters are rated at 15 microns so I would think that assist in keeping the bypass a little cleaner... What say you???

My 3 trucks with bypass setups are now at 29k,24k ,and 22k. I will post my findings when 2 trucks reach 30k

15 microns is excellent, but not enough to catch soot.

Run the bypass until it doesn't flow anymore grin

+1

If it does not warm up with the engine, change it.
