I see Amazon has Ultra Platinum for $24.97 - 5 quart but only the 10-30 type. The 5-30 is twice the price. Since I live in Florida and it never gets cold I wondered if 10-30 would work just as well as 5-30. I have a DI Acadia now out of warranty.

10w30 in Florida would be just fine.

+1 to what demarpaint stated. Heck even a straight 30 grade would be good most of the time down there.

$37.89 when I just checked it.
Maybe it's a zoned price ?

This is what I see, it has a yellow bottle

https://www.amazon.com/Pennzoil-55004519...a+platinum+5w30

I wonder what the difference between the yellow and the gray bottle is?

Yellow is the new bottle design. Same oil.

10w-30 is great in FL. 5w-30 too.

I'm seeing lots of PUP jugs-of-5-qts on sale at Amazon.

$21 (& Prime=free_shipping) on 5w20

The difference is the color of the bottle.

It may be that Pennz Plat (not Ultra) synthetic is the better deal now if you see the "dexos1 Gen2" on the jug/bottle somewhere.
dexos1 Gen2 is a higher standard now than plain old dexos1.
Pennz Ultra has not yet reformulated for the dexos1 Gen2, but Pennz Plat (non-Ultra) has already converted over, that is if you find new enough stock on the shelf.

Ultra Platinum $22.29 per 5-quarts at walmart if you pick-up at store.

https://bobistheoilguy.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/topics/4441966/1

After "mail in rebate" and $25 off if approved for a new Walmart mastercard, it's $0.09 per 5 quart

They ran out in my part of the country. Walmart does not have it anymore around here anyway.

PUP 10W30 should work well in FL. I live in So. Calif. and went with PUP 5W30 but, after researching a bit, the 10W30 might have been a better choice because of lower NOACK.
