Oil was used for around 3,000 miles in a 6 month period. Mostly city driving. Big shoutout to Blackstone labs for pointing out the extra silicon! I checked the air filter and didn't notice anything wrong; however that was a cheap filter so I replaced it with an OEM Hyundai one just to be safe. The filter material on the Hyundai one appears to be thicker.

What kind of air filter was it? Good thing you changed the oil and air filter.

A cheap economy filter from Rockauto. Won't be buying economy filters anymore. Forgot to also mention that I'm using OEM Hyundai Oil filters as well.

It's thickening quick. Not impressed.

Wrong. It thinned just a tad. The expected amount in 3,000 miles, seeing a little VII breakdown most likely. New oil is 10.9, this used oil is 10.
