I just took this off of my 2010 Fusion with the 2.5L engine. 63,000 miles on the car. 6,200 miles on the filter with MC 5w-20 oil. The filter looks like it did fine.

Thanks for the c&p.
Honestly I think with the drop in the Ultra pricing and the EBay deals Fram no longer needs a middle tier ugly on the inside filter. TG's look great outside but not to my liking on the inside. No way does this filter represent quality. Saving a few dollars here doesn't seem so wise anymore.

For a premium filter, I would agree.

Looks unstressed, my napa silver was worse at 5x less mi with 15w40 in the winter. Them water weights are a great way to keep a filter happy

Thanks for posting.

I don't think anyone considers TG a premium, just mid-tier like another poster said.

And your signature, this board

Seriously? Need to get out of the adults pool and go back to swimming in the kiddie pool.

In brief, what upgrades does the TG have over the OC?

Higher rated efficiency (~99vs95%), silicone adbv and ~2x the recommended fci max.

This TG appears to have done it's job over the 6200 mi. oci/fci. I appreciate pics 5 and 8 (from the top) showing the endcap view, often not shown in dissections of orange can and TG. Looks to have maintained seal on the center tube ends.

Thanks for c&p.

A few bends in the media, but nothing that would appear concerning to me in any way.

Honestly, if I had to say anything, I'd say that the filter looks underutilized. The Fusion 2.5 engine is pretty easy on oil/filters, and unless you did a ton of short tripping, you probably could have taken that filter out to 8,000 miles, or more, without overstressing it.

I wonder if we will see a noticeable price increase when Fram Extra Guard comes out shortly with that red silicone ADBV. Doing away with their black nitrile version.
