Hello, Finally motivated to get an UOA (And my first post!):

2006 Yamaha Roadliner (1,900 air-cooled V-twin "Powercruiser")
Recent use has been very seasonal, This sample was taken after the winter hibernation. Oil only had ~550 miles on it but was ~11months old. Most years I've been changing the oil every 6months +/-. I've almost always used Factory filter and this Yamalube Full-Syn 15w-50 "With Esters!"
If the weather holds out and my work/Army schedule is not too crazy this year, maybe I'll get 2-3k. Think I'll just go the whole year based on this report. What do you think?

Zinc and phosphorus are LOW, IMO. If you're going to let it hibernate and dump the oil, hibernate it with some Walmart Super Tech 15w40 or 20w50 for heaven sake's. smile. Either SuperTech would have more of an additive package and changed every 3000 miles you should be good to go. However, the analysis you posted has nothing wrong with it, so the oil should be fine extrapolated out to much higher miles.

Under $10 for 4 qts vs $12 per qt.

Below is the report from my ZRX 1200 with multiple oil analysis... 10x-15x more miles per oil change than what you did.

"Kawasaki ZRX1200 various UOA's" is the thread title, I bumped it as well so it's just below this thread.

the antiwear additives are low because it's a full synthetic oil...seen this in VOA's/ PDS's for other full syn oils like Amsoil, Mobil 1, Castrol; agree with using a less expensive choice for storage unless the owner uses that oil into the next season

'15 Jeep Patriot Sport (2.4L 4-cyl), '13 Genuine Buddy 125 (125cc air-cooled thumper), '14 Yamaha V Star 250 (250cc air cooled v-twin)
