What vehicle?
Why?
What specific oil?

- 1975 Ford Capri and 1999 Peugeot 106
- ( Capri ) Specified by owner's manual, gives good oil pressure
- ( 106 ) Engine burns oil, quiets down lifter tick when the engine is hot.
- Shell Helix 3 20W-50 Dino.

I don't anymore but I used to run. It in my 1986 Mercedes 420sel because that's what the dealer used. I also used to use it in the truck and my old Ford van with the same 300 motor. It had no issues and all vehicles had over 200k miles

I used to run it in small block Chevy road race cars back in the 80s. Switched to M1 15W-50 and never looked back. It's probably still good for old flat tappet muscle cars with high spring pressures - or maybe an old beater that still has to tow something heavy.

Some Lancias also specified 10W-50 these were very shear prone Dino oils though so you are better served with a 20W-50 which is much less shear prone.

2002 Honda CBR 600f4i.
Valvoline MC 20w50 conventional

Because conventional 10w40 shears too fast and I'd rather not pay $10 a qt for the synthetic counterpart

1994 Mitsubishi 4G15 1.5L carburreted ... Petronas Mach5 20W50;
2005 Yota Avanza K3VE 1.3L MPI ... Helix3 20W50

Only in the Harley

I run mobil 15-50 in my ducati and castrol 20-50 in my 1970 triumph both are recommended oils. A lot of it goes on my garage floor as the old brits like to leak some.

cars/truck: nope

Mystik Semi-Syn 15W-50 is on sale at Atwoods for $7.50 a gallon ($15 for 2 gallon jug) with MIR.

I use it in my 4BT-3.9 Cummins, My A1700-N2 Cummins, and my Harley Softail.

1977 MG Midget. That's what the owner's manual calls for. Usually Valvoline VR-1 since it's inexpensive and has plenty of ZDDP.

60s and 70s Italian and British engines love it, my Capri which has a British Ford Essex V6 loves it.

2009 Harley FXDF

Manual calls for 20w50

Redline 20w50

Run it in my 83 305 small block during the summer months when the weather goes triple digit hot,
Pennzoil 20w50

In my Harley. Won't use it in the Yamaha as the thermostat lets coolant stay steady at 152F in cool weather (40's and lower ambient temp). A bit thick at that point. I'd use it if I was to run it in the day time, but I leave for work at 4am.
Jeep I play in snow at times, W rating should be lower, esp for the 15+ yr old battery. The RX has little engine load. The IS might benefit from the low noack, but nah.
