All 4 of the links show a rebate application form which ASKS FOR YOUR PHONE NUMBER.

I don't like that. Do you? (meaning anyone reading this)

My phone number is already in a large book with a yellow cover that they dump in peoples' driveways.

They usually do. Put a fake one if it makes you uncomfortable.

Just went through my records. Got some Barum Bravarus 215-55-16s last year for $57.97 apiece, list. They are now $77!

DTD is weaning us, having "built buzz" or whatever they call it.

That's quite the jump. I see that Yoko Avid Ascends in a common 205/55R16 size are selling for $106 or so at DTD but are $85 at Walmart. I haven't had much luck in the past with price match during these DTD/DT sales events. Probably won't work this time either. Quite the difference in price though.

Sayjac: Thanks for posting the deal! Assuming the DT sale will be May 26-27?

Since rebates broached, I'll say DT sponsored promo rebates are the easiest to do and very quick turn around 'IME'. No uploading or mailing required. Just go online and enter invoice number and some other information, done.

As for DTD/DT weaning us on promos and price, not sure a singular anecdote a trend makes. For me, unless a competitor like Tire Rack or other tire store is beating the final promo sale price, it's still a deal. Haven't seen that happening as standard practice or posted here. It's all relative imo.

As for price match, IME DT has price matched the DTD tire price 'if lower' during holiday promotion sales, same as other times. Your experience could be different.

Haven't seen the DT promotion posted yet but May 26-27 would make sense. Normally the DT promo'd tire rebates have been the same as DTD. Seems last time though as posted after, a specific listed DTD tire rebate/promo may have been different for one member. So based on that anecdote, always best to confirm and double check the promo rebates are the same, including the DT credit card rebate. Current DT CC rebate is $50, but that could change for the sale to the DTD $60 rebate.

I will second the ease of dealing with their rebates- easy, fairly quick and not a worry at all, unlike other rebates. Just have to go through some hassle using up the gift cards. I also concur that if the price after promotions is a winner, that's great and they'll get my business again and again, as they have about 1x per year with the various family and friends I help with their cars.

One of the reps at DTD wouldn't price match DT. I couldn't get him to budge, he said they weren't going to price match themselves. After going round and round with him, I asked for a manager who said to email him the link and he'd get back to me. Which he did and everything was fine after that.

Silly since the reps don't work on commissions.

Just to add about price match. I was referring to b&m DT stores price matching a possible lower DTD advertised price. Done that before several times. Never had to buy from DTD because of that. Also prefer to keep whole transaction with my local DT servicing store.

But, I'm not sure how DTD matching to DT would work as standard practice. The online company DTD has shipping costs (in DTD case included in their pricing) to consider that b&m DT doesn't, at least outwardly. So I can understand DTD not matching a lower b&m DT price as standard practice. Even a price match to Tire Rack for example at DT stores (or DTD) would include any shipping charges 'if' required.

And in many states including here DTD doesn't charge sales tax, where as b&m DT stores do. So that needs to be considered in final cost too.

And $50 could be the new "floor" so the sale boost of $60 is effectively only a ten dollar spiff.

Another data point: Cooper CS3 in 195/70/14 were $49.47 last November but are $62.57 now.

I'm only annoyed b/c my next set of tires will be $140 ish for four instead of $100 ish. Still beats anyone else, just not by a metric mile.

I'm also hoping that the yokohamas that have their own rebate count as $75 rebate "better" tires. wink

Could be.

"Only $10" in addition to the current $50 'promotion rebate'? Any other tire company offering a similar or better deal? $50 seems pretty good to me outside of a holiday promo. The $10 added just a bonus, 'this time'. Based on the past, I wouldn't expect the $50 DT CC rebate promo to be there always either.

As for the Cooper, perhaps tire prices have increased, IDK. Anyone else offering a better deal on the Cooper or Barius during the promotion?

Similar to AAP codes as an example, unlike some apparently I've never felt an expectation of future prices, rebates and promos based on past experience. Things change, including prices and promos. If they stay the same great, if not it is what it is. As noted, it's all relative. Just me.

Unlike DTD I don't shop DT b&m stores strictly for the promos. Though the price match and holiday promos are certainly a big factor, the service after the sale is also what keeps me coming back. Guess that makes a DTD online sale more impersonal and most about bottom line price.
