So I have picked up some wood stain on special.

My question is, it's an oil based stain and if I leave it in the garage(sealed pack), can it go bad in a few years or no?

If it'll stay good, I'll buy a few more(just like engine oil :D), otherwise I won't.

Thanks for the help.

it should be fine, just make sure its sealed good, don't open it. i have some stain that's well over 20 years old, and some 5-10 years old it's still good. you'll need to stir it well before use.
mine have froze many times as well. no issues.

An oil based stain you should be fine. Latex stains have a freeze thaw cycle, of lets say 4 or 5 times [it depends on the mfg], after that the product may or may not be good. Do as Killer223 suggested. I have a few old pints of Minwax stain samples that are over 30 years old and still good.

Thanks everyone guys. I appreciate it.

Does anyone has any experience with Thompson water seal stain? It's a semi transparent one.

Oil base stain shelf life mainly and almost completely depends on resin package that was used.
