Just saw this on Walmart's site for pick up only. I saw several different ones for this price. I believe this is the filter their lube center uses. Great filter for someone on a very, very tight budget. On most they show pictures of other Fram filters.

Rockauto has mine M1 Mobile extended for $1.15. I'm all stocked up, so tempting though.

A local Walmart had a random tray of these in their clearance section a few weeks ago. No box, no wraps just a textured orange filter that crossed referenced to the filter for my kubota mower and my inlaw's Kawasaki powered cub cadet mower. Both machines were resurrected from the August flooding we experienced so they'll likely see a cutting seasons worth of 20 hour flush changes.
Mine were $2.10 also.

RockAuto has about a dozen or so filters (equivalent to the Motorcraft FL400s) listed for $1.41 each, including Wix (with silicone ADBV), Carquest blue, Hastings, etc.. I'll stick with those. The WalMart ones might be fine, but it's hard to beat the RA clearance pricing, especially for what you get.

But you don't always know what you're going to get.

Haven't had a problem with one yet.

Does it really matter? I guess the gasket could breakdown in 10 years, but if it were kept in a cool dry place (like a warehouse) probably be fine.
