I was curious about a pour point on a Mobil oil. I searched "0W-20" on their MSDS catalog: http://www.msds.exxonmobil.com/IntApps/psims/psims.aspx

A name caught my eye I have never seen before "MOBIL 1 ANNUAL PROTECTION 0W-20". Since I can't link to the MSDS I copied the top of the first page of the MSDS as a pic.

Date on MSDS is 12-21-16 so it's pretty recent. I went back and searched "annual" and found more listed:

Google search didn't bring anything else up. Wondering what will be different about this oil over EP?

Pennzoil had to flub everything up with their labelling, so why not Mobil?

All M1 oils recommend an annual change, It's the mileage that determines the the OCI. Regular M1 at 10K-OLM or one year. EP at 15K-OLM or one year, which ever comes first.

Then 20k or one year is my bet - flagship mPAO at new price point? There is no other logical reason to bring a new product into the lineup ...

Dr. Evil ONE MILLLLION Year Protection???

;^)

Seriously, googling "Mobil 1" "Annual Protection" only gets a few hits...mostly BITOG and Kurt Busch. Busch' website shows a car with a big Monster logo. Seems like M1 Annual Protection has been scrubbed from the web?

just saw 5 quart jug of annual protection 5w30 at walmart !
So many choices.
Price 49 bucks. That can't be right.

No need for Annual Protection at $49 a jug (walmart price). I'll continue with Extended Performance at $28 a jug and do just as well.

Just saw this for the first time in my Walmart. I can't imagine it will sell, at double the cost of M1 EP!

Any more info on this?

Won't be taking up shelf space at Walmart by this time next year. A product looking for an excuse to be.

Yea, sorry for bumping an old thread. I searched a little harder and found a thread with more info than this one.
